|Among other things, Andrea designed the Signature Dress Pattern, available here.|
Hello! I’m Andrea! I blog over at The Train To Crazy and design/run Go To Patterns. I love sewing clothes for children and for myself. Many people say sewing clothes isn’t worth it since you can go on down to Old Navy and buy a $10 dress but I don’t think the purpose of modern sewing is to save money. I love the creative aspect of sewing. I like to find a design or a pattern and make something original and creative.
A few weeks ago I made my first Lucy Tunic by Shwin Designs. It’s a very quick sew. I think this one took me under 2 hours to print, cut and sew.
Paired with long sleeves (I used a hooded top) it is a fantastic cold weather top. It closes with buttons on the top and can even be reversible because it is fully lined.
This simple design is great for beginners and I highly recommend! My daughters’ do have one piece of advice for other girls wearing this tunic: wear a shirt or a tank under to avoid embarrassing situations at school!
On my “to make” list this month:
The Greenpoint Cardigan by Hey June. I have this downloaded and ready to sew. I can’t wait!
Skinny Jeans by Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop. I keep seeing this pattern pop up everywhere! On boys. On girls. It’s adorable. I’m planning to make some for my 2 year old and my older girls. Such a versitile pattern.
Varsity Cowl Neck Pullover by Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop. This is absolutely PERFECT for our fall and winter weather here. And it couldn’t be cuter.
