Best of Summer with Elegance and Elephants!

Today we have the pleasure of reading a review by the talented Heidi of Elegance and Elephants. Heidi is a pattern designer herself! You’ve probably seen her adorable bubble shorts and ruffle top patterns taking the internet by storm. I feel honored to have her today. The blue and yellow number below is such perfection it almost stopped my heart. Thank you so much for joining us Heidi!

Hello CailaMade readers!  It’s such a pleasure to be here today sharing one of my favourite patterns with you.

I was introduced to the Bubble Dress pattern by An of StraightGrain back when it was first released in this past spring.  An and I decided to swap our first patterns and create our own versions of each other’s design.  I chose the collarless version in a size 2 using Michael Miller Madrona Road Wild Carrot Blue for the exterior fabric and cotton lawn for the lining.  With An’s bright, clear photos and easy-to-follow instructions, it was a breeze to sew this dress in less than a couple hours.  It’s fully lined and has an easy-to-sew button closure in the back.  The pattern also includes the option of an adorable peter pan collar and includes sizes 1-6 years.  The result is very professional looking, and when my daughter wears hers, she gets a ton of compliments!

Here are a few beautiful versions of the Bubble Dress made by StraightGrain.

I’m looking forward to making more versions of this dress for years to come!

Thank you for having me here today sharing a pattern that I love!  Hope you’ll come by and visit Elegance & Elephants, where it’s always about sewing classic children’s clothing.
