All That I Have Sown {Week 8}

  • A wall of boxes (more work done now means less work done later!)
  • Friends who give their time to help me pack
  • Time to talk with friend while packing!
  • An excuse to eat on disposable plates
  • Almost free of this apartment lease!
  • Mommy-daughter date with my friend Erika and her daughter, Gracie
  • Casey’s Cupcakes
  • Little girls with pink jackets
  • Blond hair, brown hair
  • Girls looking at cupcakes, eyes wide with wonder
  • Giving all my attention to my girly
  • Holding hands
  • The way she looks into my face. Quietly, “I yuv you, mommy.”
  • The way she wonders at the world
  • Her carefree (careless) run!
  • Sneakers from Nordstrom Rack that have cut down on her falls by about 75% (maybe the bruises on her forehead will clear up now)
  • Little bows in blonde hair. Her keeping them there. 
  • Time to talk with a friend, uninterrupted.
  • Spontaneous surprise for Brian: a date-in while the kids slept. Looking at each other, able to listen without interruption, laughing.
  • Trees against the California sky
  • Grilled cheese sandwiches
  • Watching Hudson ride his scooter; “Mommy, look at me go fast!”
  • Easy meals
  • One whole chicken feeding us for three dinners
  • My mother-in-law helping to pack my whole kitchen
  • The way she loves us
  • Fun lunch out, a treat (thank you Teri-Mom!)
  • Facetime with Sister (Auntie Mel)!
  • The iPhone camera
  • Throwing away junk while packing
  • No more clutter!
  • Simplifying, minimizing
  • Hope for the future
  • Mom without a neck brace (yay, mom!)
  • Encouragement from friends
  • Late nights talking
