I know what you’re thinking. Abby’s Easter dress? Wasn’t Easter so two months ago?
Well, yes, you’re right. But I’ve only now gotten around to getting pictures of her in the dress, and while I’m finishing up the Summer Shorts pattern (it will be up soon! later today!) I thought you might at least like to look at something pretty. Who doesn’t?
This dress was created using Heather Ross’s Flower Girl Dress pattern from her book Weekend Sewing. While we’re talking about Weekend Sewing, allow me to mention that it is one of MY FAVORITE sewing books EVER and totally worth buying. Trust me. Go buy it now.
The only alterations I made to the pattern were adding lace straps instead of spaghetti straps and adding that little lace ruffle down the front. Oh, and the ruffle on the bottom of the skirt. I think that’s my favorite part of this dress.
This easter dress was made using prints from Sarah Jane‘s line Children at Play, which I’ve already mentioned is a favorite of mine. I was so excited to learn that Sarah Jane is coming out with a new line, called Out to Sea, equally as adorable as Children at Play. You better believe I will be buying some right when it hits the stores!
Check out Sarah Jane’s website when you get a chance. She has some of the cutest things I’ve ever seen, and her blog is such a fun read.
I love this sweet face. And one more of Abby getting ready for her photo shoot. Is this one amazing? She’s my little model.
Thanks for reading! I’ll be back with the shorts pattern and tutorial (hopefully) later today. Fingers crossed!
